Simple Breath Meditation (10 minutes)
These are guided meditations for all those who are trying to integrate balance, resilience, and stress reduction strategies into their busy lives. There is no experience with meditation required, I will talk you through each step. While its best to have as little distractions around you as possible, these meditations can be done anywhere, a doctor’s office, at. a child’s soccer game or during a lunch break- use what ever 10 minutes you can grab for yourself in any given day for this practice. Studies from University of Massachusetts Medical School show that frequency of a meditation practice is more important than time. My experience is that with a daily meditation practice, you begin to notice a shift in mindfulness, your well being, and stress levels in about six weeks.
I started meditating 8 years ago. In 2016 I completed a year long 300 hour Meditation Teacher Training Program, an 8 week course and 5 day Jon Kabat Zinn Mindfulness based stress reduction intensive. It is my intention to upload and offer free meditations once a week.
Others who have influenced my meditation practice are Dr. Dawna Markova (My co-author) Tara Brach, Kelly McGonigal and Rick Hansen. In 2017 I participated in his year long well-being training program.
